Letrera is a typeface that was born from as a university project with the aim of rescuing and unify the characters of sign painters of Talca, my hometown, and where this case study took place.
I’m obviously not a typographer. Nevertheless, I had a glance at the infinite world of designing fonts and gave me some tools to sharpen my abilities to detect inconsistencies in the visual language and reveal a few secrets of typography.
This font is in honor of those anonymous heroes and their unique legacy.
